Background: Rex Idol was born with a platinum spoon in his mouth. As the heir to a vast fortune, he grew up in the lap of luxury with every advantage imaginable. On top of that, Rex is a natural athlete and overflowing with charisma.
After graduating at the top of his class at Stanford University, Rex, a self-styled renaissance man, decided to try his hand in multiple areas of the entertainment industry - basically anything that would put him in front of a crowd. After a few years, Rex found himself just another failed actor/singer/baby-face wrestler struggling to make it in southern California in the mid 1990's. Frustrated with his lack of success, he decided to travel abroad hoping for better luck in at least one of his chosen fields. He found all he could have hoped for and more, becoming an international sensation in music, film, and the ring. After amassing great fame and a devoted followings in Europe, Australia and Japan, he set his sights on his homeland and returned to the states.
E-Fed History: He joined the IWF and became
the only man to win the World title on more than one occasion, in fact
winning the belt three times. After memorable feuds with The Rain, Flash,
Washington Wooten, Sanka Hendrix, and of course Karnage, he won the final
match in the IWF by pinning Stiles in a HIAC elimination battle royal.
After the untimely closing of the IWF, he shocked the wrestling world
by announcing his retirement from the ring.
This retirement proved to be short-lived, as he returned to the ring just
short of a year later in Sovereign Empire Wrestling. While on the SEW
roster, Rex feuded with such stars as "The Messiah" Troy Derdin,
Shaolin, Silverbells, Genecide, and The Bearsider's personal bitch Johnny
Manson. It was while feuding with Manson that Rex joined forces with the
federation's dominate faction - The Down Under X-press. The only stable
Rex was ever a member of, the D.U.X. (Rex, Brod, LJ, & Sabre) enjoyed
an overwhelming amount of success. The group held every title available
at one time or another, both tag and singles. Their run together culminated
with Rex gaining a shot at the SEW World title by winning one of the biggest
battle royals in efed history, and ultimately going on to win the coveted
belt. After his victory, Rex announced his retirement from film and music,
vowing to concentrate on the ring, and proclaimed the beginning of his
forthcoming "10,000 Day Reign". This proclamation may in fact
come true, as the SEW closed its doors before anyone could end the reign
of The PARAGON.
