Background: Brod cut his teeth in the business when he wrestled under his home country's AWF banner, debuting days after his 18th birthday. Chose to compete under his real name, Jonathan Brodala. Noted for his high flying in his early matches. Won the AWF's highest accolade by outlasting 31 other competitors in a 2 night elimination tournament which also included Lincoln Jansen. Travelled to the USA after his 21st birthday to further his career. Overlooked by many promotions at first before receiving a try out for the newly opened RMW. Lost by DQ to Dan E Summers on Monday Night Malice in his debut match. Gained membership to the New Age Rage and quickly got nowhere. NAR's designated back up man wasn't getting many matches. Officials threw Brod and Lincoln Jansen together in a feud to battle Dan E Summers which was never settled but the two began to click as a team and the Down Under Express was born which raised the ire of the NAR. Booted out of the NAR and he and LJ began to feud with them. Had a brutal series of matches with Outrage throughout the summer months and cutting some brilliant promos in the process. Feud with Outrage intensified with the addition of Twist Von Eric to the Brotherhood's ranks but titles continued to elude the DUX usually as a result of interference from Twist. Popularity at this point of their careers had skyrocketed. Started to feud with Modern Mayhem after a series of sneak attacks. Feud culminated at Sudden Strike 2 where Brod and Trouble tore the house down in a Last Man Standing match and LJ was successful in his Tables bout with Cypher. At the Final Face Off Brod was a special guest at the announcers booth. He and LJ defeated Outrage in an inpromtu match on the same card. Managed to hold the honour of never being pinned in the RMW. RMW closed it's doors soon after which made the DUX the most sought after free agents at the time. During his time off he met his current girlfriend, Kimmy. After about a month of inaction Brod signed on with the SEW alone while LJ headed back to Australia. Won the Imperial Title on debut at Rise of the Empire defeating Silverbells. Also defeated former champion, Vertigo, after Kimmy interfered. Turned heel after aligning himself with Sandra Stone which signalled the return of LJ who began to side with Twist Von Eric in the latter's bid to unseat Brod for the Imperial Title but the truth behind LJ's motives were revealed when LJ turned on TVE to help Brod retain the title in a brutal ladder match. The DUX had reunited in SEW. Lost the title the next night to Silverbells after Twist interfered. Soon after the DUX captured the SEW Tag Team Titles from Rainmaker and Nookie on Knights after no showing the previous weekend's PPV and went on to hold the titles for more than 6 months. Breaking away from the tag team ranks Brod added another belt when he defeated Falcon for the Royal Title. Would hold the title until SEW shut its doors for good
